Family Secret Rice Recipe

We have a family secret rice recipe that no longer is a secret obviously. This recipe is a fan favorite and I have not had an individual try it and not fall in love. Not only is it delicious it is also an easy recipe that can be cooked in a rice cooker. I only use our Koshihikari rice for this recipe as it is a premium rice and has the best flavor, texture, and taste out of all the other varieties of rice available. I am not saying this because I am biased it is just a fact. Rice preferences are very similar to wine. Once you find the best you don't want to go back to anything else. Trust me!

  • 3 cups Black Fox Brand rice, rinsed (Semi-brown or White)

  • 1 onion finely chopped

  • 2 cloves of garlic minced

  • 2 (4 oz) cans of sliced mushrooms (with liquid)

  • 2 (10.5 oz) cans of beef Consommé

  • 10.5 oz of water

  • 4 Tbsp parsley

  • 3/4 cup parmesan cheese

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine

  • Salt and pepper (optional)


  • Mix and cook in rice cooker

  • Approx 12, 1/2 c servings
